Tips for browser screen recordings

  • Close unnecessary browser tabs before recording to reduce CPU usage and avoid stuttering
  • Use 'Share a tab' instead of 'Share entire screen' if you're recording web content — higher quality and less background noise
  • Speak into a headset microphone rather than your laptop mic for clearer audio
  • For recordings that need click highlights or keystroke overlays, use the ReplayFlow desktop app instead

Frequently asked questions

Can I record my screen in the browser for free?

Yes. Modern browsers support the Screen Capture API, which lets you record your screen or a browser tab directly in the browser. No install required.

What's the difference between the online recorder and ReplayFlow?

The online recorder is a basic screen capture — it records what's on screen with no enhancements. ReplayFlow adds automatic click highlights, keystroke overlays, smart zoom, and instant cloud sharing.

Can I record a specific window with the online recorder?

Yes. When you start recording, you can choose to share your entire screen, a specific application window, or a browser tab.

Does the online screen recorder work on Windows?

Yes. It works on any OS in any modern browser (Chrome, Edge, Firefox). For a native Windows experience with more features, download ReplayFlow.

Is there a time limit on the online screen recorder?

No. The recording continues until you stop it. For very long recordings, the output file may be large — consider ReplayFlow's cloud sharing for long recordings.

Ready to replace your screen recorder?

Download ReplayFlow free — no signup, no subscription, no time limits.
